Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor – Wellington

Hiring now for a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor, location is flexible, but needs to be based at a NZOSL site or our Central Office in Wellington.

The Position:

We are proud of our unwavering focus when it comes to health and safety/ We are seeking an experienced HSE practitioner, to be part of a multi-disciplined tea, and join us in our journey as we continue to develop our knowledge and strength in the areas of environmental compliance, energy efficiency and reduced emissions.

As the HSE Advisor you will:

  • Be part of the Risk & Compliance Team providing HSE and compliance advice
  • Incident reporting, recording and investigation of personal and process safety events
  • Manage and support NZOSL’s risk assessment, safety, and environmental framework
  • Develop best practice processes and tools to ensure continuous improvement
  • Evaluate, analyse, and report in HSE performance and corrective actions
  • Deliver specialist expertise and guidance to a range of internal and external stakeholders

To succeed in the role, you must have:

  • National Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years’ HSE practitioner experience in safety or compliance management.
  • Sound understanding and application of health , safety and environmental regulation.
  • Analytical, with well-developed report writing and communication skills.
  • Good rapport skills to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Database systems experience.
