Trainee Fuel Storage Operator – Development Opportunity

Have you completed your studies in the area of engineering, science or technology) or will complete your studies by the end of the 2022 academic year?

While our preference is full time, we shall provide flexibility to enable you to complete your studies, working on a part time basis until the end of the 2022 academic year.  After you have completed your studies, you move to working on a full time basis.  We have a strong culture of learning, with structured learning program to support the learner to grow and develop into the role.

The Position:
The Terminal Operator is a practical hands on role with a focus on the operational activities required to run the terminal.  You will have a high level of attention to detail and good record keeping skills along with an ability to interpret information and to understand and to follow procedures.  The ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly is essential for success.  A proactive, can do attitude is an essential part of the success of our teams in this environment.

The requirements of the role include:

Have a technical orientation, in either engineering, science or technology
Reliable, have good attention to detail with high work standards
Adaptable and responsive to changing circumstances, with the ability to work autonomously
Good communication skills (both written and oral)
Good computer skills
Able to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends
A permanent resident living in the Wellington region
Hold a full driver’s license (no restrictions) with own vehicle
Our terminals are normally attended Monday to Friday, with some night and weekend work to meet operational requirements outside normal hours. There will be periods where the terminal has a higher than usual tempo of work so flexibility will be required.
